Programming is a profession for many and a passion for some. For most business managers however,  it is more of a necessity to get their daily work done. Specifically, in situations where data driven decisions are necessary and analysis of data is critical, programming becomes the go-to tool for the modern manager. But there is a larger story that is often overlooked as in missing the wood for the trees -- the story of artificial intelligence.

Generative AI, like ChatGPT and Dall-e, may be hot today but  may cool off tomorrow. What will not stop, however, is the steady diffusion of artificial intelligence capabilities in each and every product -- car, TV, fridge, phone, camera, POS card reader -- that humans come in touch with. This in effect is the equivalent of the evolutionary appearance of a new species on the planet -- the way mammals appeared after the dinosaurs. A species that we Homo sapiens can refer to as the Neo sapiens.

Now that  Neo sapiens are here, we need to learn how to communicate with them and this is where structured thinking, if not actual programming skills, becomes necessary. This is  because unlike the blended construct of emotional and analytic abilities that defines the average Homo sapien, it is the cold precision of logic, and logic alone that is the leitmotif of the Neo sapien. AI can fake emotions, it neither has it, nor can experience it.

Neo sapiens are making every effort to reach out to us, Homo sapiens, with Natural Language Programming tools like Large Language Models. However it is equally necessary for us, Homo sapiens, to strengthen this dialogue by adopting structured thinking into our cognitive processes.

This is the rationale for writing and reading this book.
